City of the Unexpected

September 23rd, 2016

What an absolutely incredible weekend that we have just had in Cardiff! A Giant Peach was discovered at St Mary's Street, Mr Fox escaped the Farmers by doing a tightrope walk across the road, City Hall was lit up in stunning projections of confectionery and candy, the Chief of the Welsh Fire Brigade got married to Miss Ladybird, Families baked and created snozzcumber delights for the picnic AND there was a giant pillow fight in Bute Park. Roald Dahl's City of the Unexpected didn’t only show that thousands of people wanted to celebrate 100 years of Roald Dahl but also showcased the array of talent that Wales, and the UK, has got to offer. This includes everything from the execution of the event, the producers, stage management, volunteers and show callers to the lighting & sound designers, costume designers, projectionists, crew, cast, participants and partners. Sarah's role on this event was as the Associate Producer and has been working on the show tirelessly for over a year. Sarah, assisted by Megan Hastings, advanced the show in Cardiff and have implemented the ideas into making it a reality. On behalf of National Theatre Wales and the Wales Millennium Centre, SC Productions would like to thank ev

Admiral Staff Party 2016 – Principality Stadium

May 23rd, 2016

SC Productions had the pleasure to be involved in Admirals spectacular staff party at the Principality Stadium working for Paul Williams Events.  The party uses the space on the pitch of the stadium in a truly unique way with our main role to coordinate all of the relevant parties to ensure we use the space to its full potential and that the tight schedule works for all involved.  With 5 themed areas along with a main stage featuring McFly the party delivered the wow factor the client was looking for.   2016 was the 7th time we have helped to deliver this event and the 2nd time we have managed the event in this format in the stadium alongside an excellent team including Star Events who installed the complicated rigging, Stage Sound Services who managed all of the technical production and sound design, Matt Pittman who created an outstanding lighting design and Scott-Callaghan who expertly delivered all of the impressive set pieces and creative elements of the show. Jake’s 3 month update

April 20th, 2016

Since my adventure with Sarah and Walk the Plank back in September last year, I have now joined the SC Productions team as a ‘Production Assistant’ and have been getting stuck in, advancing the sites for Forgotten Fields Festival, Kew the Music and also the Stereophonics gig which is taking place in the Cardiff City Stadium. This has been an exciting and busy few months advancing these sites, whilst also trying to finish my degree at Cardiff Metropolitan University. My work has included finding and booking contractors and suppliers, gathering quotes, creating purchase orders, liaising with promoters and site managers and also producing event documents such as site schedules, event documents and contractor guides. During this time, I have learnt an incredible amount about an area of the industry I have never considered going into before. Everything from staging, big top tents, barriers, cabins, tour buses, plant and security companies have been things I have been looking into. In the next few weeks I will go on to the world of Artists and will be the Artist Liaison Coordinator for Field Day, Camp Bestival and Bestival. This will be another new experience for me that I am looking forward to learning and gettin
