A Sell out Festival – Camp Bestival 2011

August 3rd, 2011

The SC Productions team headed off to Lulworth Castle in Dorset last week to provide artist liaison management to this year's Camp Bestival. Bestival's 'little sister', Camp Bestival is targeted at families with small children and offers a exciting mix of music, comedy and theatre. The festival with a capacity of 15,000 people sold out this year and featured well over 150 live artists and DJ's. Our team not only provided onsite Artist Liaison management that included a full team of Artist Liaison Staff, Transport Co-ordinators and Accreditation Managers, but also organised the artist advance and artist contracts; liaising closely with Agents, Promoters and Production Suppliers several weeks before the festival production dates. Headliners included Blondie, Mark Ronson and the Business International and Primal Scream. Other performers included ABC, The Wonder Stuff, House of Pain, Eliza Doolittle, Bad Shepherds, Easy Star All-Stars and Ed Sheeran with family entertainment from Mr Tumble and live performances of The

In the thick of it!

August 3rd, 2011

It's all systems go here at SC Productions as we reach the middle of the busy summer festival period. So far July has been a very busy month indeed and has seen the team travel across the country to provide services to Sonisphere, Wakestock, Lovebox, High Voltage, Ponty Festival and Camp Bestival. (phew!) The SC Clan has a a terrific time so far; Sue Carr a member of our Artist Liaison said "Amazing day at Lovebox with 2 Many DJ's, Scissor Sisters, Blondie, Beth Ditto & Marc Almond. Best moment was taking Beth Ditto to stage bare foot through the mud!!' August is now upon us and we look forward to the months ahead where we'll be working at Bloodstock, Creamfields and Beastival. Maybe we'll see you there........

What a Weekend for Wakestock

July 31st, 2011

Europe's largest wakeboarding music festival got off to a fantastic start this year with the promise of sunshine for the whole weekend. Situated on the Llyn Peninsula in North Wales the festival site boasts stunning views over Cardigan Bay and presents a line up of the world's best wakeboarders, Dj's and bands.  The festival headlined with appearances from Ellie Goulding, The Wombats and Biffy Clyro who pulled a massive crowd this year with the festival selling to capacity. SC Productions provided on-site management and artist liaison services to this year's festival.  Our lovely artist liaison team, headed by Ruth Oliver, were there looking after the logistics back stage for the multitude of artists who took to the festival stages over the three days. Unknown to us at SC Productions, we had a celebrity in the making as our very own Ruth Oliver was interviewed for the Welsh language Wakestock programme on S4C.  For the interview Ruth sported some rather trendy festival sunglasses and a lovely mustard cardi

The PASSION

June 7th, 2011

It's not often that you can say you have been part of something truly epic but this year saw The National Theatre of Wales join forces with Wildworks to produce a unique and inspiring theatrical event that saw Port Talbot-born actor Michael Sheen revisit his home town to star in 'one of the defining narratives of our time'.   Scripted by Owen Sheers, and co-directed by Michael Sheen and Bill Mitchell, The Passion had the community of Port Talbot at its very heart casting its residents as actors and crew.  From a very early age Michael Sheen had been inspired by the plays at nearby Margam Park and felt it only fitting to put on a performance within Port Talbot.  Supported by over 1,000 community volunteers the production celebrated a town and its people bringing over 22,000 people to the town over the Easter Weekend. SC Productions Director Sarah Cole was brought in as Production Manager for The Passion and invested eight months into the planning and organisation of the logistics of the production. Sarah led a vol

It’s full steam ahead for the summer

June 6th, 2011

Last week saw the office buzzing with activity as we welcomed the arrival of some familiar faces and some new faces to the SC Productions team.  The team has increased to nine this year with new additions Lucy Keeling and Rachel Hill both of whom will be taking on the role of  Artist Liaison Co-ordinators and Donna Reeves who will be one of our Artist Liaison Managers.  Go to Meet the team to find out a bit more about the rest of the squad. Amid the hustle and bustle the team did find time last week to have a quick coffee and a cake or two before everybody started work on their busy festival schedules.  The summer is packed for us this year and  includes Sonisphere, Wakestock, Creamfields, Bestival, Camp Bestival, High Voltage and Lovebox. Ruth and Lucy are already on site at Rockness and Sarah and Ange  are at The Liberty Stadium in Swansea prepping for JLS, so it is indeed full steam ahead.
